YOU can positively impact the lives of hundreds of children while encouraging them to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math, by volunteering for FIRST Robotics. There are more than 30 tournaments in December 2016-March 2017 and many volunteers are needed - no experience required!
FIRST allows students to compete with robots in a fun environment where they can apply STEM concepts to design a robot and research a scientific topic of interest. Some of the volunteer jobs are:
- REFEREE...Watch robot games and tally scores
- JUDGE...Interview and evaluate teams, choose award recipients
- ROBOT INSPECTOR...Inspect team robots for safety/rule violations
- TECH ADVISOR...Assist with technical setup and maintenance, troubleshoot connection issues
