Since 1991 College Bound has helped students achieve the goal of graduating from high school and going to college. College Bound has six academic mentoring sites, located in Washington DC, that serve middle, junior high and high school students.
College Bound practices a one-to-one mentoring model, one student is paired with one mentor ("partner") and both work together throughout the school year to achieve academic success. Students and partners are committed to meeting once a week at a designated academic site. Each year College Bound helps 100% of its students graduate from high school.
Help us making college completion a reality by signing up to serve as a mentor! We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2016-2017 academic year!
*Our Monday,Wednesday,and Thursday academic mentoring sites begin at 5:30pm, 6:00pm, or 6:30pm and last a total of two hours.

Mission Statement
The mission of College Bound is to prepare public and public charter school students in the metropolitan D.C. area to enter college, earn a degree, and achieve their personal and professional goals. Through a combination of mentoring, tutoring, college prep, and scholarship opportunities, College Bound provides these underserved 8-12th grade students with access to one of life's greatest gifts - the opportunity to obtain a college education.
Description
College Bound was founded in 1991, on the premise of pairing students with adult volunteers to work toward academic goals that will foster meaningful and effective mentoring relationships. The Academic Mentoring Program matches students with college educated mentors, who aid them in the college preparatory process. Students and mentors work weekly on homework, within the curriculum, and on various college preparation activities. Students who participate in the Academic Mentoring Program also participate in numerous enrichment activities, such as college tours and career fairs, and are eligible for the College Bound Scholarship.
