Attention all hunger heroes: One out of five Washingtonians don't have enough to eat, be part of the solution and help us feed our hungry neighbors! Food Lifeline is in urgent need of weekday volunteers to process food donations.
Each year, we distribute more than 39 million pounds of food and supplies to 275 hunger relief partners across Western Washington by redirecting good food from local farmers, grocers and restaurants that would otherwise go to waste. Volunteering weekly or even once a year ensures that hunger doesn't have to happen.
★ Volunteers Ages 6+ ★ Individuals and groups welcome!
Food Lifeline receives bulk or mixed food donations which means we need helpful hands in our warehouse. Individual, family, and group volunteers inspect, sort and repack these donations for our hungry neighbors. This is a great project for volunteers ages 6+.
Volunteers will process thousands of pounds of food and supplies during these short sessions. You must be able to stand for the full session, light lifting and calculate simple math or have an adult that can help you. Adult accompaniment required for ages 15 and under; 1 to 5 adult to youth ratio.

Mission Statement
Feeding people facing hunger today and working to solve hunger for tomorrow.
Description
Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. We believe that access to food is a human right and that nobody deserves to be hungry. Food Lifeline provides nutritious food to thousands of people facing hunger every year by sourcing nutritious food from a variety of food industry partners. We distribute this food through a partnership with 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs, enabling us to provide the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day. At the same time we are working to end hunger for the future by addressing its root causes, including systemic inequity and social justice. We do this through advocacy efforts to shape local, state and federal policy, by partnering with organizations that are addressing other causes of poverty and through community engagement and mobilization efforts.
