What makes a watershed worth protecting?

We are looking for volunteers willing to serve as Watershed Educators who will inspire youth in grades 5-12, through educational activities and hikes, to value and protect the natural and cultural resources of San Diego County's watersheds.

The Watershed Explorers Program is actively seeking people who are interested in learning about the distinctive nature, history, and culture of the San Dieguito River watershed stretching from Volcan Mountain 55 miles west to Del Mar. Join us as we spread our enthusiasm and knowledge to the next generation of citizens and stewards.

Volunteer Watershed Educators receive training and access to exclusive events. For more information on the Watershed Explorers Program and volunteer opportunities visit Contact Education Manager, Ana Lutz, at with any questions.
