Compassion Ministries
Each year, Florida Baptist Children’s Homes provides more than 50,000 services to children and families through Compassion Ministries - providing food, clothing, diapers and other items to those in crisis. In addition to meeting tangible needs through this ministry, we are also able to provide for the intangible needs of children, bringing life-changing support to families.
Office Assistant Overview
The primary responsibility of this volunteer position is to work in the Harold Clark Simmons Compassion Center greeting guests, answering the phone, responding to donation inquiries, maintaining tidy lobby, assisting donars, ensure all client information is maintained with confidentiality except by law to report. Assist as needed or requested by Compassion Services Manager or Director of Compassion Ministries.
Minimum of one half a day a week, Monday-Friday, and a minimum of a six month period of commitment is desired. However, there are opportunities for biweekly and monthly volunteers as well. Office Assistants are scheduled on weekdays between 8:30 AM-4:30PM.

Whether it’s providing clean diapers to a newborn baby, food for a hungry child, safety for an abused child, or foster or adoptive homes to children in crisis, we work to share with children who have been abused, neglected and abandoned the protective and healing love of Jesus.
