You can make a lasting impact on students in your community while gaining valuable experience! Help students succeed by becoming a Volunteer Tutor at Weld County’s only dual-language education option: Salida del Sol Academy.
Volunteers will assist teachers in tutoring 3rd-5th grade students in reading and language arts during an after-school program at Salida del Sol Academy. All instruction will be done in English.
Volunteer tutors will:
-Help monitor students as they arrive and when they are dismissed.
-Assist teachers during instruction time.
-Answer questions that students have regarding their school work.
-Help students complete their reading and language arts activities.
The after school program will run Monday through Thursday during the enite 2016/2017 school year. Volunteers are needed from 4:15pm-5:45pm in order to help monitor students as they arrive and depart as well as assist during actual instruction. It is preferable that volunteers commit to at least one shift per week. If they are able to commit to more days, they may do so.

Serving K-8th grade students from the Greeley-Evans communities of Colorado, our school provides a personalized, bilingual education that supports every student in meeting his or her goals. Here our students learn to communicate in English and Spanish as they construct a path for a successful future. Salida del Sol Academy is paving the way for all students-native English speakers and English language learners-in the Greeley-Evans community to experience academic success and rise to the challenges of an increasingly global workforce.
