Volunteer Position/ Social Media Coordinator: The social media coordinator will develop and implement a social media strategy to increase overall reach and brand awareness. -He/she will use social media outlets to promote active KASIF campaigns, engage the public and increase online presence. -The social media coordinator will directly contribute to increasing KASIF's ability to educate at risk youth about the four (4) social ills plaguing todays youth and society as a whole. This will be accomplished by increasing public awareness. Duties and Responsibilities: The social media coordinator will: -Identify key online channels for KASIF to establish a presence. -Develop a social media strategy to support the organization’s campaigns and fundraising activities, and establish targets for increasing online reach. -Post regular updates to KASIF's social media outlets, including news articles, blog posts, press releases, fundraising appeals, and any other promotional items. -Monitor activity and user interactions for all social media outlets. -Adapt general KASIF campaign messaging for the different social media outlets. Qualifications: -Experience using key social media outlets (Facebook, Twitt er, Flickr, YouTube, Pinterest); -Strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail; -Ability to use online tools to engage members, donors, and corporate partners; -Outgoing, enthusiastic and creative; -Works well independently and as part of a team; -Bilingualism an asset; Time Period: This position requires a minimum 3month commitment for 1-2 days per week, for an average of 8-10 hours per week, which can be completed at home. Benefits and recognition: This position provides valuable experience for Communications, Social Justice, and Non-Profit Management. Students or individuals with an interest in gaining experience in the non-profit sector or in the social entrepreneur field; and anyone with a passion for protecting and educating youth towards pro social behavior. Volunteers are highly valued members of the KASIF team and contribute to making a significant difference in KASIF'S ability to educated today's at risk youth and public. KASIF will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully provide in-kind services which assist KASIF in fulfilling its Mission Statement.

KASIF's Flagship Mission Statement: To expand the perspective of young people, globally, and equip them with the life skills necessary to fulfill a pro social role within their respective community. Four (4) Projects under KASIF, each with their own respective Mission Statment as follows: Somers’ Drive Alive Project (S-DAP): To educate at risk youth about the risks and consequences of distracted and impaired driving. Somers’ Youth Preparation Project (SYPP): To educate youth about drugs, alcohol, bullying, aberrant sexual practices, and other harmful/anti-social behavior. Somers’ Young Healers Project (SYHP): To educate youth about high risk behavior and habits, and then provide beneficial instruction on how to make quality life choices in the alternate. Somers’ Diversity Project (SDP) To educate youth about the inherent dignity and human rights of other races, ethnicities, and religions, around the world.

Keith A. Somers International Foundation (KASIF) educates at risk youth about four primary social ills plaguing todays youth: distracted and impaired driving, suicide and depression, bullying and cyber-bullying, and cultural, racial, ethnic, and gender sensitivity. KASIF accomplishes its mission through in-person presentations at middle shools, high schools, colleges, and at other youth organizations.
