Help us train 1,000 teachers in the world's largest refugee camp!

We are looking for young, energetic, volunteers with an entrepreneurial spirit to take a leading role in our effort to train 1,000 teachers in the world’s largest refugee camp at Dadaab, in Kenya. Volunteers will work remotely along with E-Gap staff to plan and execute a campaign to gain global support for this effort. The campaign will last from January 1 through April 30, 2017.

We are looking for young leaders with talent - but not necessarily formal experience - in social media, graphic design, business development, and communications. Note that, because this is a hands-on project, ideal volunteers will be self-starters, energetic, and passionate. They must also work well with team members from around the world.

Hours for this opportunity are flexible and will depend on the workload and availability of the team. All volunteers will connect remotely.

Mission Statement

To develop programs and materials that sustainably enhance the impact of teachers serving vulnerable populations in conflict zones and other at risk-areas.

Description

At E-Gap, our goal is to train teachers in conflict zones and areas of extreme poverty. We look for ordinary, passionate people who are stepping up to teach children in their own communities, and give them the training and support they need.

We want to put an end of the global teacher shortage that disproportionately affects refugees, minorities, and the poor. We want students to have equal access to opportunities, regardless of where they come from. Students need quality education, and this starts with creating quality teachers who are deeply invested in the success of their students.
