Changing Footprints is a 100% volunteer 501c3 organization that collects and redistributes 30,000 pairs of used shoes per year to organizations who serve those in need: Wheeler Mission (homeless), Coburn Safe Place (domestic abuse), Dress For Success (career assistance), Children (Evan's House), Community Re-integration (Catholic Charities), Veterans (HVAF), and more, mainly in Central Indiana. And Changing Footprints is Green. These are shoes that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Look us up on www.changingfootprints.org for our full story.
We are looking for people who like to travel the state of Indiana and surrounding areas. There is an ever-growing number of people in surrounding states that want to do shoe drives for a good cause; we need to get the shoes back to Indianapolis for sorting and redistribution. If you are retired (so that you can schedule your trips with greater flexibility) and would enjoy visiting Chicago, Gary, Louisville, Evanston, and other locales occasionally, let's talk. We reimburse gas and a little bit more, and you do a world of good.
YOU can make a real difference. Without your help, these shoes don't make it to those in need. YOU can personally keep 2,000 pairs per year out of the landfill. Whether you can make one trip per year or two or three, flexing to meet your schedule, we need your help.
Call or write us for information
P.S. we are also developing contacts for those in need in all corners of Indiana, so we may be delivering shoes at the same time we pick them up. Two great conributions in one trip!
