Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Services

Cleaning Supplies

Ms. S has lived on Alki for 29 years, and has seen the neighborhood grow. She is in need of help now. She suffers from low mobility, low energy, glaucoma, cataracts, and she has pins and screws in her leg. She needs someone to help her get her home cleaned and organized. Ms. S is also in severe need of a volunteer whom can help her get groceries. She has run out of food before because she could not find a way to get to the store.

Volunteer Services assists low-income older adults and persons living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.

Time and location are very flexible; you can volunteer in your own neighborhood at on days that work for you, at times and frequency that fit your schedule. You are provided with an orientation and ongoing staff support.
