Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Grief Support is hoping to add a few committed, well-connected members to join our Board of Directors. We are seeking visionary Board Members that will plan, fund raise and help us at events. Board Members will serve to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership, fiscal development and general promotion of the organization as to support its mission and needs. Persons with CPA, grant writing, marketing, public relations, legal, veterinary and mental health counseling experience are especially valued.
If you are unable to join our Board, we are also looking for volunteers to help with fundraisers. Generally, volunteers attend to the Chance's Spot booth and table at locally-hosted events. Most take place outdoors and in the summer months. We also have virtual opportunities that involve co-moderating an Online Pet Loss Support Group and Social Media Management.

Mission Statement
Chance's Spot is dedicated to providing education and support to individuals who are grieving the loss of a dearly loved pet.
Chance's Spot understands that the feelings generated when a pet dies are real and deserve the same respect as if it where any other family member. By educating the public about the grief experienced when a pet is lost, we will attempt to show how genuine the human - animal bond can be.
Description
Chance's Spot provides support and grief resources to those who have lost a dearly loved pet.
On the Web, Chance's Spot provides an online support group, publications on pet loss, hotline numbers, referrals and an online tributes page where pet caregivers can post tributes to their departed pets. Locally, Chance's Spot provides a monthly support group, educational presentations on the topic of pet loss and compassion fatigue education and support to animal care providers. We also present our Humane Education for the Classroom Program to schools and youth groups.
It is our intention for Chance's Spot to be the first and only organization in the country to provide a memorial garden, pet loss education center and trained staff available to veterinarians and their patients.
