Participate in something great for your community and yourself, connect with and through Hospice of San Luis Obispo County after attending our September training. No specific skill is needed, no professional background is required, a compassionate heart, a little time and a willingness to have your life changed is what is essential in a Hospice SLO County volunteer. In-Home Volunteers help provide companionship, respite care, transportation, emotional support, practical assistance and comfort to individuals who are coping with a life-limiting illness. Other requirements are open-mindedness, a healthy perspective on grief and loss and sensitivity to others. Volunteer commitment is up to 4 hours per week.
Volunteers are the backbone of Hospice SLO. Since 1977, dedicated and compassionate individuals have selflessly served San Luis Obispo County Residents. We are a nonmedical hospice supporting individuals with a life limiting illness.

In this spirit, we support the community in working with those near the end of life and the people who love them by providing in-home support, caregiver respite, grief counseling, support groups, community response and education. All free of charge.

Hospice of San Luis Obispo County (Hospice SLO County) is an incorporated non-profit 501(c)(3) agency with offices located in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Governed by a nine member Board of Directors, Hospice SLO County has been providing uninterrupted services since 1977 and continues to rely 100% on community donations, fundraising events, grants and bequests.
Hospice of San Luis Obispo County envisions a community that recognizes death as a part of life; where dying and grieving are embraced as natural; where all have access to support services without charge; where no one dies or is left to grieve without comfort.
