Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
JA of Rhode Island is looking for volunteers in the workforce or retired from the workforce to teach a 7-week program at Smithfield High School. Each week, for an hour, the volunteer will lead students in an engaging discussion and activity relating to the JuniorAchievement's Be Entrepreneurial program. JA Be Entrepreneurial introduces students to the essential elements of a practical business plan and then challenges them to start an entrepreneurial venture while still in high school. Students will learn about advertising, competitive advantages, financing, marketing, and product development.
JA programs are comprehensive and easy to use. JA staff trains each volunteer and provides them with a program kit which includes all materials and instructions. We encourage volunteers to share their unique personal experiences during lessons.
Thank you for your interest!
