The construction of Potter's Lane is well under way in Orange County and we're looking for volunteers to put the finishing touches on this new apartment complex that will house homeless veterans. This 16 unit apartment project was built using 54 steel shipping containers and it is the first of it's kind in the nation. To learn more about this innovative project and to read some of the 100+ articles written about it, go to www.afhusa.org.
For these service projects, we are looking for groups of 20 adults to paint interiors, paint exteriors, install landscape plants, lay flooring, build wood fencing and install wood sidings. Each of these 8 hour project days require little or no experience. Some are weekdays and some are weekends. Please contact me and I'll send you a link to the sign up form that contains the dates and descritpions of the projects.
Thank you VERY much for offering your time! American Family Housing greatly appreciates the generosity of volunteers willing to help us serve the needs of individuals and families that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. These projects are both fun and rewarding and we really look forward to spending a day with you!
