Do you want to make a difference for senior and special needs cats just by posting cute photos and stories about Catnip Casa cats?

We need a very good social media-savvy volunteer over 18 (no exceptions due to insurance)and located in the United States (to meet tech and security requirements) to post pictures and videos for Catnip Casa. If you love cats, it will be fun to select photos and add cute captions or include updates we send you.

Please read the entire posting before you reply. You can fulfill this opportunity during one afternoon every other week or maybe even one afternoon each month if you have basic skills and can quickly create and schedule posts. It doesn't require a lot of time, but you need to commit to doing it regularly, just like you would if you volunteered to work onsite.

Our focus is simply on helping us keep a regular presence with photos and posts on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, our blogs, and whatever else we need. It is helpful if you know the social media posting requirements of each channel. If you use them, you probably know enough. We also have an account on Buffer for scheduling posts.

We use Microsoft Share to upload and share social media photo files and saved videos. If you don’t have or know Microsoft Share, don’t worry. Our tech person can teach you how to log into our system and use it to upload pictures and videos. There’s nothing to buy, and it's just like editing and posting pictures and videos for your personal posts. You must live in the United States to meet the security and communication limits of our system, along with our insurance requirements.

Catnip Casa is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based organization.

Catnip Casa is small. It's not necessary to come up with a post every day, but we need to keep the momentum going. Our aim for TikTok is to post at least two videos to post each month. Your schedule and how long/how often you volunteer is flexible. You don't have to spend time onsite or live in Austin. We are used to providing photos and videos. We also have a Canva account if you want to crop or add captions. Creativity is welcome.

If you love social media and have basic skills, this is an easy gig. College students with social media skills are welcome. We want to have more than one social media volunteer to make it easy to keep the posts going and not ask too much of one person.

The captions and stories can be fun but must be professional. As a nonprofit animal rescue organization, our goals are to build awareness, attract new donors, and inform supporters about the daily life at Catnip Casa, as well as showcase virtual special events. You can draw information from talking to the caregivers, reading the website bios, and reading email updates from the office about fundraising, health issues, and more. Some experience with cats and cat antics would be helpful, but it isn’t necessary.

Please have good grammar and good spelling. We realize many things on social media are abbreviated or done with emoticons, but we are a professional nonprofit organization with a wide age range in our audience.

Our previous FB social media volunteer worked virtually even though she lived in Austin because she also traveled for her job. She never worked onsite and did a great job until she recently returned to grad school. We want to establish a team of two or three people to make it easy and fun to keep us looking good on all of our social media channels.
