ORGANIZATION: CONNECTICUT ODYSSEY OF THE MIND INC

1. Regularly attends monthly board meetings and important related meetings

2. Makes a serious commitment to participate actively in committee work

3. Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time

4. Stays informed about committee matters, is well prepared for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports

5. Gets to know other Board and committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus 6. Actively participates in the Board’s annual retreat where annual evaluation and future planning efforts are conducted 7. Participates in fund raising for the organization ?

8. Assists the Nominating Committee Chair in identifying and recruiting other Board members

9. Reviews and approves CTOM’s annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions

10. Strives to be informed of and meet all legal and fiduciary responsibilities of a Board member

11. Ensures that Board resolutions are carried out

12. Represents CTOM to stakeholders and acts as an ambassador for the organization

The mission of CTOM, Inc. is to celebrate the positive power of creativity and foster the development of group problem solving skills for people of all ages in the State of Connecticut. We believe that creative problem solving skills, self-respect, teamwork and understanding of others are essential ingredients in any effort to build a better world.

Description

Our goals are to sponsor and promote creative problem solving programs and activities throughout the State of Connecticut; (ii) to conduct training and workshops which teach creative problem solving and divergent thinking skills; (iii) to sponsor tournaments and competitions in which program participants compete under the highest standard of sportsmanship, and (iv) to recognize and celebrate the creative effort and achievements of all participants through awards, honors and ceremonies.
