About

The Job:

Manage and operate the luncheon registration table by:

  • Setting-up and organizing registration table by alphabetical order (a layout guide will be provided to follow)
  • Checking in guests
  • Creating new name tags for late registrants
  • Distributing pre-printed nametags organized alphabetically
  • Directing luncheon traffic into main event area
  • Packing up registration materials

Who We Are:

TAF is turned 20 this year! As a leader in STEM education, TAF has provided minority students in underserved neighborhoods rich project based learning in STEM. We've been on the front-line of working to equalize student access to STEM immersion through developed programming in schools and the community. To date, 4,100 students have benefitted from the influence of TAF's services. That number continues to grow everyday.

The Best Fit:

You should have excellent organizational skills as well as be comfortable speaking with people you do not know. You should be upbeat and personal, patient and able to solve problems (like a registrant not having a name badge).

All registration operator volunteers will have a TAF staff member readily available to answer any questions as well as to direct guests to if there are questions they are unable to answer.

-----

Along with helping at our registration table, there are a few other opportunities available for TAF's Varsity Luncheon:

  • Decoration Assitants (Set-Up/Tear-Down)
  • Catering Assistance
  • Ushers
  • Student Project Monitors
  • Registration Table Operators

If you're interested in any of these opportunities instead of or in addition to the Installation Assistant volunteer opportunity, please contact TAF Development Associate, Stephana Sneed at stephanas@techaccess.org.
