Our hospice patients are located throughout 13 counties in Northeast Wisconsin-at home, at Assisted Living Facilities, Senior Care Centers, and Nursing Homes. You can visit with a patient near your home or work on a weekly or monthly schedule, depending on your available time. We are hopeful visits may begin soon at facilities. Currently our volunteers visit people in their own homes. Visit ideas include:
Listening. (the most important gift we can provide!)
Reading or writing memories, wisdom, shared experiences.
Going for a walk with a patient or family member.
Sitting with a patient so caregivers can have some personal time.
Engage in art or music therapy.
Assisting with an activity in an extended care facility, ex. Bingo, a card game, a holiday party.

The mission of Compassus is to honor life and offer hope to individuals facing a life-limiting illness by supporting them with compassion, integrity and excellence.
The Hospice promise is to provide dignity to our patients and families. Hospice care is an aggressive approach to pain and symptom control as well as addressing the emotional and spirtual needs of the dying. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice Compassus seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and manage other symptoms so their last days may be spent with dignity and quality of life.
