Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters, offered through Tarrant Area Food Bank, is a cooking-based nutrition course taught in the kitchen by culinary and nutrition professionals. This innovative program provides a long-term solution to hunger and poor nutrition by demonstrating the strategies to get the best nutrition possible on a limited budget. Courses are offered in both English and Spanish and consist of six consecutive weekly lessons, each 2 hours in length. One-time workshops, each 2 hours in length, are also available. Training is provided.
An ideal Culinary/Nutrition Instructor is someone with a degree or working toward a degree in specified filed or at least 2 years experience working in the industry. Professional or personal chefs, culinary students, caterers, and foodservice professionals are preferred. Bilingual and Spanish-speaking instructors highly valued for leading Spanish curricula.
