Help Wanted - Events Planning/Silent Auction
Volunteer with SOSMentor, a local non-profit providing nutrition and physical activity education to underserved kids across Los Angeles for the past ten years.
SOSMentor is seeking a volunteer to organize our silent auction portion of our Annual Toast to Healthy Kids Event on April 26, 2017.
Responsibilities:
- Collect items from office and potentially help solicit items from companies.
- Catalog and wrap donations in preparation for the event.
- Make bit sheets for the event.
Our office is located in Calabasas, but the bulk of this work could be done from home. The hours are flexible, approximately 5-8 hours per week. This may change closer to the event.

SOSMentor’s mission is to decrease the alarming rates of childhood obesity and related illnesses by educating underserved youth in health, nutrition and fitness and by motivating them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Description
SOSMentor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 2000, that strives to improve the health and quality of life of underserved youth in the greater Los Angeles area through mentoring programs and educational support.
Our current focus is addressing the alarming rates of childhood obesity and related illness that are prevalent in low-income communities. Through a series of workshops on proper nutrition and physical fitness, students learn how to redefine their eating habits and make good food choices as well as how to incorporate fitness into their everyday lives.
