This volunteer Board position works collaboratively to create, oversee, and implement best practices that address transparency, accountability, fiduciary responsibilities, and management oversight. This leadership role combines analytical, organizational, and writing skills with a passion for the organization’s mission. Image Impact International’s mission is to mentor first-generation college students to remain in college. Through our college to career bridge programs, we provide the leadership, communication, and professional skills needed for workplace success.
The VP Governance oversees and makes recommendations regarding organizational structure, policy development, legal issues, strategic planning, and audit.
Organizational Structure
Offer recommendations to the Board regarding the functions and operation of a future Advisory Board or President’s Council.
Accurately reflect responsibilities and growth through oversight of the organizational chart.
Policies and Legal Issues
Review on a regular basis, update, and develop as necessary written policies including fundraising, internal controls, finance, and other policies required of 501(c)3 Non-profits.
Conduct an annual review and amendments of the organization’s By-laws.
Obtain advice and assistance from pro-bono counsel, accounting and other advisors as necessary.
Strategic Planning
Assist in coordinating the strategic planning process which includes goal-setting, strategies, and action steps.
Coordinate and update the Board’s implementation plan.
Establish Non-profit metrics and measurements of success.
Audit
Collaborate with Audit Board members in overseeing the financial management of the organization.
