This event provides toys for JTCHC’s participating patients who might be otherwise overlooked this holiday season. Over 600 children were served each year for the last 12 years. Common Threads is giving away snacks and tabling at their event. Volunteers will help set up and break down our station.

Mission Statement
To educate children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being, and to foster an appreciation of cultural diversity through cooking. Common Threads delivers culturally-relevant, family-centric cooking and nutrition curriculum for kids in underserved school and communities that results in life-long eating habits.
Description
Cooking for Life! Founded by Chef Art Smith and artist Jesus Salgueiro in 2003, Common Threads grew out of the belief that family and food have the power to nurture and strengthen us, to connect us to culture and community, and to teach and excite us about our world. By sharing the delight of cooking and delicious recipes, in conjunction with practical life-skills in health and nutrition, Common Threads can change lives.
