Fostering a dog for Peak Lab Rescue just means allowing the dog to stay in your home from the time it leaves the shelter until the time it finds a permanent home.
WE AREN'T LIKE OTHER RESCUES!!! Our fosters are a true community of like-minded people who support each other and our joint cause of saving Labs. We hold our Adoption Events at LOCAL BREWERIES because our supporters like to hang out and have a pint with each other and their dogs. Approved Fosters interact on our closed FB group where they can share ideas and solve problems. We promise fostering for Peak Lab Rescue will be both rewarding and FUN!

- The average Foster stay for one of our dogs is 2-3 weeks, so this is a short-term commitment.
- In an attempt to keep your costs to a minimum, Peak Lab Rescue provides everything you need: crate, food, leash, collar, medical (as needed), etc. You provide love, patience and understanding.
- You are NOT necessarily required to have a fenced yard to be a Peak Lab Rescue Foster.
- You may absolutely have other pets as long as they are fully immunized and in good health. Quite often, another dog is helpful in reassuring a Foster dog and showing him or her the ropes.

Peak Lab Rescue saves the lives of Labs and Lab Mixes in high-kill shelters throughout North Carolina. Our vision is to see every Lab in North Carolina in a permanent home where they receive love, shelter, food, water, and regular veterinary care.
Description
Since 2008, Peak Lab Rescue has placed thousands of dogs in happy homes! Our Labs come from high-kill shelters in NC and from situations of abandonment and neglect.
Peak Lab Rescue does not have a physical facility and here's why: When a Peak Lab leaves the shelter, we promise that dog that they will never return to a cage. We know that living in a foster home is the only way a shelter dog can practice the skills necessary to succeed in a permanent home. Fosters are the backbone of our rescue. Their patience and kindness turns shelter dogs into amazing family members. And there is NOTHING more rewarding than watching a fearful dog learn to love again. Or nursing a sick puppy back to health. The bottom line is fosters save lives.
At Peak Lab Rescue, we pride ourselves on providing the highest possible level of veterinary care. We know that healthy Labs are happy Labs. Because of our amazing Vet partners, we can rescue Labs suffering from illnesses and injuries that other rescue groups would not consider.
