ORGANIZATION: WhoWhatWhy

  • 12 people are interested

Is there anyone out there with superb organizational and motivational skills who would like to help an amazing outfit scale up and go to the next level - where money is not a factor? We are a nonprofit that accepts no advertising, runs entirely on donations and functions on a tiny budget. Despite that, we are already having an outsized impact. And we aspire to do much more.

WhoWhatWhy is an up-and-coming investigative and analytical news site that specializes in responsibly tackling the many subjects and stories the mainstream media shies away from. We don't promote a partisan angle or push predictable views. We do dig deep, think hard, read a lot of history, ask a lot of questions, steer clear of establishment or consensus journalism, and write up what we find with verve. It's interesting, cool, and meaningful work.

What we seek is several Operations Managers, at least part time but ideally full time, who can get our inspired, creative, productive but under-structured team and process in hand, manage it, and get it to the next level. Initially, compensation must necessarily be close to nil, though not nil - but we have plans to raise more resources which would be distributed to managers based on their contribution to the team’s success. First and foremost though, the right candidate for this role must love what we do and be up for a good challenge.

To apply, send your resume and a customized cover letter, to tanya.madan@whowhatwhy.org, making clear you understand what this opportunity entails, and what you would bring to it.
