All Hands on Deck for November and December
Plant Materials Harvesting!

Happy late autumn volunteers,

Synergy is in need of your assistance for plant material collections coming up in the next couple of weeks. We just received a tall collection order for some very important riparian tree species that must be nursery grown this winter for spring restoration projects. Narrowleaf cottonwood, plains cottonwood, and peachleaf willow are in high demand for flood recovery projects and it is up to us to supply that need...but, we CANNOT do it without your help! Please consider joining us for one, two, or all of our upcoming collection events!

Boulder and Larimer County Hardwood Cuttings
We are thrilled to have located, with the help of our friends, several ecotypic populations of riparian trees and shrubs such as alder, river birch, cottonwoods, and willows throughout several properties in Boulder and Larimer counties. These are very important species for wildlife habitat and erosion control as well as for shading rivers and streams from the blistering summer sun. With your collection help we will be able to produce new tree and shrub stock for upcoming river restoration events!

Tuesday, November 29 (Larimer County)

Saturday, December 3 (Boulder County)

Tuesday, December 6 (Larimer County)

Saturday, December 10 (Larimer County)

Tuesday, December 13 (Boulder or Larimer)

**All events are from 8am to 3pm (Drive time to and from collection site is included)

Don't feel like driving that far yourself? Carpooling is always an option and very much encouraged!

All of these projects are great for individuals, families (children over 14), and groups (schools/universities, businesses, churches, clubs, etc.). Join us for some fun and education in the great Colorado outdoors. If you know other folks who may be interested, please spread the word!

Register Today!
Please be sure to specify which date or dates you are planning to attend. Once you are registered and the the date draws near, you will be sent project details with location, directions, and what to bring.

We look forward to seeing you in the field this fall! Thank you in advance!

About Synergy Ecological Restoration

Location:

PO Box 212, Fort Collins, CO 80522, US

Mission Statement

To develop enduring restoration solutions for our lands and waters through the creation of diverse public- private partnerships.

Description

The frequency of ecological disturbance caused by wildfires, floods, recreation, urban sprawl, mining, and oil & gas development is increasing at a steady rate throughout the Southern Rockies and High Plains. In light of this disturbance pressure, the ecotypic plant materials necessary to restore these disturbances are largely unavailable, economically impractical, or are comprised of native plant cultivars originating from outside of the ecoregion (Northern Montana, Canada, New Zealand, etc.). Collaborating with dozens of agency, non-profit organizations, and private sector partners, Synergy Ecological Restoratoin is working to develop an appropriate seed source necessary to maintain the genetic, water quality, wildlife habitat, hunting and fishing, grazing, and recreation benefits that our forests and grasslands provide.
