Barber/Cosmetology Volunteers at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance

The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a partnership between the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Seattle Children's, is currently seeking persons with a valid Washington State Cosmetology License to become Cosmetology/Barber Volunteers.
Persons must be able to make at least a 3 month commitment, be 21 years of age or older, and must be a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Washington.
Cosmetology/Barber Volunteers will provide head shaves, wig trims and haircuts to SCCA patients and caregivers.

Orientations are offered quarterly in January, May, July and October. Specific dates are listed on the website and the application - please be sure to note the application deadline.

Description
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center will accelerate the development, evaluation, and use of new cancer discoveries and treatments and will offer patients greater access to clinical trials, bringing research and clinical care closer together. For current patients the superior care you have come to expect from us will continue uninterrupted. For example, as part of the transition to Fred Hutch there will be no changes to your doctor or care team. Over the longer term, this update to our structure will enable us to improve patients’ care experiences and increase integration across your care team.
