Description: Pick up groceries (about 30 pounds) at the North Texas Food Bank (or partner locations) and deliver them to hungry seniors. Every home-bound senior will get a box of shelf-stable items and a bag of fresh produce. Most of the routes will be in high-need areas.
Requirements: Driver must have access to a reliable car, have proof of vehicle insurance and pass a background check. This opportunity is physical as you will be carrying food boxes from your car to the senior's home.
Age: Driver must be 18 or older and others can ride along.
Time Commitment: The route will take about 3 hours after pick up. We are looking for volunteers to make a 6-month commitment and deliver every other week during the same day and time.

Founded in 1982, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a Dallas nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of more than 262 Food Assistance Partners in 13 counties. As a member of Feeding America, we support the nutritional needs of children, families and seniors through education, advocacy and strategic partnerships.
We strive to be the best nonprofit. Including access provided through SNAP application services, NTFB provides access to nearly 175,000 nutritious meals every day. ReThink Hunger is our three-year initiative to provide healthier food, develop new ways to extend our reach and improve the lives of those we serve.
