Heaven on Earth provides home to up to 175 cats - many awaiting adoption. Our sanctuary is named Perry's Place in honor of Perry MacFarlane, Seth MacFarlane's mother. Now that Perry's Place is open to the public as an adoption center, we need as much volunteer help as we can get... especially on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3-8 pm.
As a Perry’s Place volunteer, you are part of the team that creates a homelike environment for hundreds of homeless cats and kittens every year! Perry’s Place volunteers help clean and maintain the sanctuary during public hours to ensure the cats are comfortable and the facility is ready for visitors. They spend quiet time socializing shyer cats and kittens, as well as working with senior or special needs cats who need extra grooming and TLC. They often help prepare for each weekend’s mobile adoption events as well. Please note that although you are welcome to interact with the cats, being a volunteer at Heaven on Earth does requires a little elbow grease. We ask for a volunteer commitment of at least 4 hours a month for 6 months during our open hours, which are Thursday and Friday from 3 to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 pm.
Age Requirement: 14 years or older.

Mission Statement
Heaven on Earth, founded in 2000, envisions the day when there are no more homeless pets in the Los Angeles area. Our programs and events are aimed to rescue cats most at risk for euthanasia and to raise awareness in Los Angeles and beyond.
Description
We fulfill our mission by:
- The Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary, our Cage-free, No-kill Facility. Cats who are with us temporarily awaiting adoption as well as longer-term residents receive quality care and lots of love at our North Hollywood sanctuary, known affectionately as Perry’s Place.
- Adoption Program. Mobile adoption events are held each weekend at several area pet stores, and we host adoption visits at Perry’s Place as well.
- SpayShip Transport Service. Working in conjunction with local spay/neuter clinics, SpayShip provides free transportation and trapping assistance for community and companion cats in targeted San Fernando Valley zip codes.
- Community Outreach. Referral, guidance, support and humane education are central to everything we do, and while we cannot rescue every cat in need, we do respond to each inquiry we receive from people seeking to help them.
