Support parents of youth in our Youth of Promise program by helping us serve dinner at our monthly Parent Cafes. Parent Cafés engage parents in meaningful conversations about what matters most - their family and how to strengthen that family by building protective factors. Parent Cafés are focused on building the 5 research based protective factors that mitigate the negative impacts of trauma: resilience, relationships, knowledge, support, and communication.
We start the evening with dinner and then transition into the meeting. Your role will be to help set up and serve dinner and then remove dinner from the meeting room, packing remaining food into containers for those who want to take food home after the meeting.

Mission Statement
To break the cycle of poverty and violence through community planning, innovation and action.
Description
Flintridge has been working in the Northwest Pasadena/ West Altadena community for over 30 years through a continuum of prevention and intervention programs with the goal of improving educational achievement, breaking down barriers to employment, and steering community members away from the cycle of crime, violence and incarceration.
Two of our main services are our mentoring and after school programs, which altogether serve more than 150 youth, who are at risk of dropping out of school or joining gangs, per year and our Apprenticeship Preparation Program, which prepares and supports previously incarcerated and gang impacted individuals for careers in the construction trades. Moreover, as the City of Pasadena's official Institutional Home for Community and Gang Violence Prevention/Intervention Programs and Positive Youth Development, Flintridge collaborates with local community partners to continuously develop and strengthen programs in response to the specific needs of our community.
