STW(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. Save the Water(tm) is currently seeking for a Technology Project Leader: UX Design & Development who thrives in an environment that recognizes excellence in creativity, and execution. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated individual that is passionate and someone who supports the Technology Group by managing a team of volunteers in the area of UX Designs and Development.

Project Leaders are expected to put in a minimum of 8 hours per week and be responsive to emails within three (3) calendar days.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage on average 2-3 volunteers within the UX Designers & Development team

• Plan and conduct monthly development team meeting, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up

• Provide monthly report of your team’s progress to the President and Vice President.

• Attend monthly Technology meeting.

• Keep timesheet minimum on a weekly basis

• Complete the timesheet audit for the Associate Level each month

• Report to Associate Director for the given project team

• Develop a system for obtaining ideas from UX Designers and others in the organization on improvements and suggestions for the STW website. Filter, prioritize, and oversee the changes.

• Manages and delegate the work for the Associate UX Designers and Associate UX Developers, as you decide upon after gaining approval from the Associate Director of Technology or the Director of Technology.

• Placement and removal of sponsor’s materials and ensuring that sponsor’s benefits are being fulfilled.

• Work with different teams (IT, Marketing, Fundraising, Web Analysts) to define and prioritize features needed to create great user experiences

• Design and conduct small and medium scale usability tests and other UX research activities to improve the STW website

• Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure design matches your vision

• Contribute to user experience best practices and act as an experience evangelist to the organization

• Keep up-to-date with and display knowledge of market trends and best practices

• Provide monthly report of your team’s progress to the President and Vice President.

Experience/Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

• Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

• Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
