YULEFEST IS A HOLIDAY ROAD RACE THROUGH HARVARD SQUARE which proceeds benefit local charities.

Long before Christmas, there was a quirky winter festival named " Yule" that people really loved. Join us on 12/11/16 for a 5K race that takes the holidays back to their old school roots!

The race starts & finishes in front of Harvard Yard and is immediately followed by an epic block party at the Parking lot on Church Street that's sponsored by four local craft brewers.

Volunteering includes a C5K shirt, a Yulefest Hat and admission to the post-race Yule party (21+) featuring an awesome mix of old school hip hop & holiday favorites!

WHAT WE'LL BE DOING: Waterstop: pre-pouring water in cups, handing water to runners, raking up used cups Course: Handing out water at finish line and congratulating runners Bag Check: greeting runners, organizing bags after they are dropped off VIP Tent Management: Assisting Runners at Team VIP Tents, stocking the tents, checking in runners WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

All volunteers receive a high quality volunteer shirt + free admission to the post-race block party sponsored by Slumbrew, Notch, Night Shift & Downeast Cider (ALL food & beer is complimentary and the party goes from 10:00a - 1:00p).

WHERE TO MEET:

All volunteers should check in with their Event Manager, Dave, by 7:30 am at the registration tent. Volunteers who arrive late should check in at the volunteer table inside the registration tent.

Mission Statement

One Brick provides support to local non-profit and community organizations by creating a unique, social and flexible volunteer environment for those interested in making a concrete difference in the community. We enable people to get involved, have an impact and have fun, without the requirements of individual long-term commitments.

Description

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings volunteers together to support other local non-profits by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event -- which typically lasts only 3 to 4 hours -- we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or caf where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting.

Our 'commitment-free volunteering' allows you to choose when you volunteer, rather than having to make commitments for a certain number of volunteer hours, or agree to be available every week at a specific time.
