At HALO Our mission is to Help Animals Live On through increased adoption, sterilization and pet care education.

Some of the most important pieces in helping us carry out this mission, are our adoption counsellors. The adoption counsellors show dogs and cats to potential adopters, ensure that it's a good match, and then draw up the adoption paperwork ultimately sending the pet to their furever home!

The tasks of the adoption counsellors include but are not limited to:
-Reviewing Potential Adopters Applications.
-Doing the meet and greets with the pets.
-Asking clarifying questions to ensure it's a good fit between the pet and the adoptor.
-Doing the adoption paperwork/contract.
-Going over and reviewing the paperwork and forms with the adopters.
-Keeping the kennels and pets clean in between adoptions to ensure the pets are as clean and presentable as possible.
-And so much more!

After attending an orientation, we will set you up with the adoption counsellor training which entails shadowing staff members through the process to ensure you are familiar and comfortable with it from start to finish.

Once trained you may volunteer as an adoption counsellor at our Main Shelter Location, Our Metrocenter Mall Center, our PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Centers (Deer Valley or Old town Scottsdale) and events.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to work hands on and get to know the animals, and help them finally get to the loving family they deserve!

***MUST BE AT LEAST 18 AND HAVE GONE THROUGH HALO VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION***
