RADAR needs an experienced social media volunteer to help with posting to our Social Media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and also help moderate and respond to comments. A bonus would be if you have experience with graphics and have used Canva.
If you are interested, please provide a few ideas, how you think you can help and specifics on your experience level. We need to know that you are truly interested in helping, and not just clicking a button to submit your email address!

RADAR is 100% volunteer-operated, and we are dependent on donations from our supporters. Work with our Vice President and Social Media Manager - share ideas, posts, collaborate!
The ideal candidates would:
- Comment and answer questions that are posted on our content we share on Social Media.
- When creating posts, there will be a variety of posts... fundraising, fun posts, thought-provoking posts... and yes, we do sometimes have sad posts.
- Find and select appropriate shelter and dog rescue-related content and other relevant content for posting and sharing.
- Create photo collages, memes, and other graphics, with consistent design and message.
Qualifications:
- Experience and interest in dog rescue.
- Solid understanding of Social Media.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proper punctuation and spelling are required.
- Ability to write engaging content.
- Experience with photo editing/graphics program, and have an eye for style and quality.
- Need to be able to devote several hours per week, ideally at least an hour a day.
- Collaborate with other volunteers and help us improve our social media strategy.

Mission Statement
We raise funds to provide grants for specific dogs in shelters. Our focus is primarily on smaller, overcrowded, and underfunded rural shelters that typically operate below the radar in Appalachia and the Southeast. Our efforts are aimed at providing grants to otherwise adoptable dogs in these shelters who are least likely to get adopted (older dogs, black dogs, special-needs dogs, medical-needs dogs), regardless of breed. We also help dogs who are on a shelter’s euthanasia list. By covering part or all of the costs of necessary veterinary care, etc. for these dogs most at risk, rescues are far more likely to be able to help these dogs. We assist rescues that commit to these at-risk dogs with veterinary care, temporary boarding, transport, and other costs. We also highlight the dogs we assist on our website and through social media to help get them on the radar to be adopted or taken by a rescue, and to increase awareness of the plight of at-risk dogs.
Description
We are here to put at-risk dogs on the RADAR by raising vital funds and providing 100% of those funds as grants to help get at-risk dogs out of shelters, into rescues and on to forever homes. The dogs we assist are the most urgently at risk in rural shelters, including senior dogs, black dogs and dogs with medical or special needs. These dogs are adoptable, but often need financial assistance for veterinary care. Your help will better enable us to save more at-risk dogs.
