About Us:
EmpowHer Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to empower marginalized teen girls and young women by helping then gain the skills necessary through education, training, and mentorship to become confident, college or career ready. We are seeking interns who will help build, maintain and grow EmpowHer Institute programs and administrative / operational capabilities to help accelerate our mission of empowering underserved teen girls. Intern should have a p assion for youth and women’s social issues and interest in providing quality educational, enriching experiences to girls.
Internship/volunteer activities:
Provide administrative support - respond to emails, answer phone, schedule events
Manage of social media accounts and postings
Participate in volunteer outreach
Assist with special projects and events
Create newsletters and other marking materials
Communicate and interact with multiple constituencies (staff, sponsors/donors,
volunteers, board members, school administrators, parents, and teens)
Assist with marketing and promotion of programs and events
Help develop and improve programs
Weekly/hour load:
Hours vary (based on project, event, internship program, etc.)
Experience /prior knowledge requirements and desired qualities for this intern/volunteer position:
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and the Internet
Technologically savvy
High level of organization and professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment without heavy supervision
Working knowledge of social media platforms
PR and Marketing experience (preferred but not required)
