The After School Program at Neal Math and Science Academy (NMSA) offers students social-emotional learning, academic support, and valuable enrichment. The program reinforces skills taught during school, while enriching students with art, STEM, literacy, and collaborative projects. North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) helps students develop self and social awareness, responsible decision making, self-management, as well as build positive relationships with peers and positive adult role models in the community.
NCCP volunteers help create an engaging, collaborative and encouraging environment for students to thrive. Program starts with refresh and refuel - a time for students to talk with peers and volunteers while eating a cold supper. Students then engage with enrichment lessons designed and facilitated by NCCP staff with support from our volunteers. Finally, students complete homework, receive tutoring from staff and volunteers, or engage in games and activities to support academic development. We are looking for friendly, patient, and collaborative people to help us support and empower middle school students!
