This Animal Sanctuary was established in 2006. A privately funded and run venture founded by John, an Artist from Brighton, UK. The Sanctuary was set up to rescue dogs from cruelty, neglect and abandonment, and is set in a beautiful location lying at the foot of it's own mountain land full of undisturbed wildlife. This is home to 145 dogs, 8 cats and 4 live in Filipino carers who look after their daily needs.

Volunteering in Dogs Mountain Sanctuary Philippines will give you the opportunity to use your energy, skills and passion for animals to benefit our organization and the community, animal welfare in the Philippines. Whether you are still studying or have different skill of experience this program will provide you with a unique insight into what it’s like to work outside of your country. By joining this Dogs Mountain Volunteer program will have an opportunity to make a real contribution to protecting animals from extreme cruelty. This project aims our goal is for you to Philippines, have amazing time and to be highly knowledgeable Animals advocates after you visit, to help continue our work to spread of awareness all over the world.

We present a fantastic and unique opportunity to experience something really special as during your stay, you will help care for over 145 courageous canines. Many have been rescued from the illegal dog meat trade and have very sad backgrounds. Your love, care and affection means so very much to our dogs that have been treated very badly by humans in the past.

If you decide to undertake our volunteer program. please know in your heart that your effort and contribution makes a huge difference to our cause. We can't change their traumatic pasts but we can certainly brighten their future and make the present moment magical.

You will make a positive impact in a number of ways, not only to the dog lives but also to ours.

You will experience the joy of bonding with the dogs and the pure fulfillment of helping animals experience unconditional love. It's a special experience and very character building.

You'll will meet different people around the world and get to immerse yourself in a completely different culture. The Philippines is vibrant and exciting with an abundance of beauty all around, it's certainly a must see place!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteering at Dogs Mountain is more than just an opportunity to work with animals in our care. It is challenging and rewarding opportunity a higher quality of life for the animals in our community. Help animals and find out about yourself and have an experience more meaningful, not only working as a volunteer a wonderful feeling It’s also one that you can take a chance to work on the animals hands-on give them love, cuddle, and playing, with them while you work it is worth it do it, Doing somethings different. Offers the chance to surround with creature you love while doing some good at the same time.

General volunteers:

You’ll need a willingness to commit to hard work and passion to help the dogs and cats on the friendly sanctuary of Dogs Mountain Sanctuary. A love of animals is essential but you’ll also to be hard-working, motivated, friendly and mature. Regardless of ages "it’s all about your attitude" Working with us is an immensely rewarding and fulfilling experience. It requires commitment. This is a working holiday, and it is hard working including cleaning, gardening, maintenance and animal welfare duties. You’ll meet of great people and we know you’ll have lots of fun. But the animals come first.

Veterinarian, Vets Nurse, Vet student, volunteers:

If you’re a volunteering a qualified Vet and Vet nurse or Student and would like to contribute your skill and knowledge this be good experience for you. Will give you the opportunity to use your energy, skill and passion for animals to benefit our organization and the local community. longer term to controlling the overpopulation of strays and treated illness animals. Then this is for you. You will need to be ready to work in hard condition and witness difficult situations. You will on animals on a daily basis as well as examine and treat pets. You will be on call of hours to deal with emergencies. We particularly welcome experience vets and vet nurse. Vets must show their certification or Verify License.

THE BENEFIT YOU BRING:

By volunteering with us your energy and effort and your compassion to animals. Not only will your help to around the sanctuary be greatly appreciated. Your contribution goes toward benefit directly towards to the animals needs by providing for the 145 dogs and 8 cats. Their dog food, veterinary care, medicine, vaccinations, veterinary bills. Utility bills, pay the kennels staff needed to care for the dogs and cats. And as well as the day to day operations of the sanctuary. To keep our waggy tailed friends happy and comfortable for their remaining days.

By volunteering with us you’ll be helping us to keep the sanctuary open, and you will be giving us the opportunity to save more dogs lives and make a real difference animal welfare in the Philippines.

If you would like a taste of this pioneering animal welfare work in this fascinating Country, visiting local markets, The Mountain city of Baguio, San Juan, for any surfers, and more - you will find life in the Philippines colourful and vibrant, with amazing sights and friendly people. A stay at Dogs Mountain, will offer an unforgettable feel good adventure, and a chance to experience the real Philippines, enjoy the welcoming friendly atmosphere at our Sanctuary, whilst helping support this Inspiring Sanctuary venture.

DAILY SCHEDULE:

The day starts at around 7:00AM until roughly 4:00-5:00PM every day.
Morning tea break is around 10AM
12:00PM-1.30PM is time for a delicious lunch break!

DAILY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Food preparation
- Feeding the dogs twice daily- Washing dog bowls

- Washing dog blankets

- Cleaning/sweeping the kennels

- Bathing the dogs
- Clipping the dogs' nails
- General admin work
- Cleaning and maintenance of the Sanctuary
- Most importantly: socialising with the dogs and giving them lots of love and attention!

Volunteers will be assigned various tasks and responsibilities at the Dogs Mountain Sanctuary:

Who Benefits:

145 dogs and 8 cats your contribution is vital to the continuation of our work to rescue dogs and to improve the life of our resident rescue and give best life and care and have good food everyday they eat, clean water and veterinary

• Location of the Project: The dog sanctuary is located in North Luzon which is roughly about an 6 hour drive north of Manila, the capital of the Philippines​
• ​Number of Volunteer: This program accommodate a maximum of 7 international volunteers per week​
• ​​Applicants should be 18 and above
• ​Requirements: Rabies & Anti- tetanus vaccine is strongly advised to all applicants for this project and Comprehensive travel insurance with volunteer abroad coverage
• ​Project length: Min 1 week - Max 8 weeks​

What's Included!

​Accommodations:

Shared rooms at the sanctuary Volunteers will stay in shared rooms accommodation, with between 4 people per room. With Fun, hot and cold showers and Western - style toilets available.

Food:

Three meals a day Breakfast, Lunch, dinner, Unlimited tea or coffee

Transport:

Meet and Return airport transfers from Manila international airport (This journey to the sanctuary is in a modern air conditioned people carrier, but can take 5 to 6 hours drive.

WIFI:

Free UNLIMITED WIFI is available at the sanctuary ​

Free Laundry facilities are available at the sanctuary
