Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families? Would you like to use your language skills to strengthen our impact in the community?
Jumpstart is looking for volunteers to support the Los Angeles Community Corps team behind the scenes! Our program provides preschool children in underserved communities with literacy activities to help them thrive. We also engage families through bi-monthly newsletters and weekly take-home activity sheets. By translating these materials into a child’s home language you can help extend learning outside of the classroom & empower families to participate in their child’s growth.
We are seeking volunteers to translate materials used in our program. Translation projects include:
- 6 Bi-monthly family newsletters (single page document, two-sided)
- 20 Weekly take-home activity sheets (single page document, two-sided)
- Proofread/Translate other materials as needed
- Optional: Occasional in-person translation services
Services needed in Spanish as well as Korean, Cambodian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog (and other languages in the future depending on children enrolled in our program.)
