Steinway Society The Bay Area

Steinway Society, now in its 23 year, is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors. We are seek community Board members in the Silicon Valley who are passionate about classical music and have some business expertise to help guide and manage the organization in financials, legal, fundraising and networking functions, staffing events and organizational tasks. Meetings are once every two months evening at a San Jose office. It would be greatly welcomed that members have a network of friends to help extend our audience reach. Business executives or community leaders are highly desired!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area.

Description

Core Program: The Steinway Society presents classical piano recitals by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists for the purpose of increasing the cultural vibrancy of San Jose and the South Bay and advancing public appreciation of classical music.

Ancillary Program: Recognizing the importance of a quality arts education, the Steinway Society works closely with San Jose schools to help bridge the gap that was created when comprehensive arts programming was eliminated due to buget cuts.
