Summary: The Public Speaking Volunteer works directly with students and staff at schools that run the Student Series Program. This person will feel comfortable working with students ranging from kindergarten to high school and school staff as well. This person will go to schools within San Diego County to present assemblies to engage students in the Student Series program and overall LLS mission.

Would You Like to Volunteer to Help Cure Cancer? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is looking for energetic and excited team members who would like to join our non-profit team as a Public Speaking Volunteer while still being able to maintain a school and/or family-friendly schedule. Successful Public Speaking Volunteers are excellent communicators and listen well to help coordinators build programs that encourage schools to join us in the fight against blood cancers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transportation to and from all school sites.
  • Engage and involve students by presenting Student Series assembly.
  • Work with LLS staff to coordinate assemblies.

Since we need assistance on weekday mornings and afternoons, this is not ideal for high school students.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's San Diego/Hawaii Chapter serves residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
