Fresh2You Mobile Farmers' Market is looking for volunteers like you!
The Fresh2You Market is on a donated city bus retrofitted to have a food market inside! The Fresh2You Mobile Market makes fresh produce available to people who live in food deserts and in high need areas of Pulaski County. We especially like to target older adults and go to housing that is specified for this population. The mobile market welcomes SNAP recipients and accepts EBT cards; additionally, SNAP recipients receive double their purchase value in fresh produce. The Arkansas No Kid Hungry campaign’s Cooking Matters Team offers cooking demonstrations and recipes at each stop.
Some volunteer opportunities include:- Assisting individuals with choosing the best produce
- Management of the market
- Driving the bus (proper license is required)
- Checking people out
- Assisting with Cooking Matters Demonstrations

Task: Assembling custom made boxes to be delivered on Tuesday
Every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesdays:
As of May 2017, the Fresh2You Mobile Market will be switching our Tuesday bus run to a delivery system. This switch comes in hopes if impacting more people. While our target customers on Tuesday are older adults and we pull up closer to where they live, we are still noticing that many cannot come down to where the bus is due to mobility issues that many older adults face. To overcome this barrier, we are switching to a delivery system. This process will include order pick up Friday, assembly on Sunday and Monday, and delivery of their custom box to their doorstep on Tuesday.

Description
The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, established in 2004, is a non-profit umbrella organization representing a network of Feeding America food banks and hunger relief organizations around the state. We work with local and national non-profit organizations as well as state and federal agencies in implementing programs designed to increase access to food and teach low income Arkansans the skills they need to make healthy food choices. We are also active in helping shape policy decisions impacting hunger in our state and in raising awareness of the educational, economic and social consequences of hunger.
The impact of our work has gained local and national recognition. The Alliance was named one of the three top non-profits by AY Magazine, a finalist for 2015 Arkansas Business Non-profit of the Year and Runner-up for Best Local Charity and Best Local Charity Event in the Arkansas Times Best of Arkansas 2014 reader survey. The Alliance was cited in the National Commission on Hunger’s final report to the US Congress for our innovative approaches to reducing hunger.
