Hope Xchange Nonprofit is dedicated to reducing suicide in our high-risk populations, our youth, LGBQT and bipolar communities, and to improving mental health outcomes for our most vulnerable and socially isolated.
We accomplish our mission by developing innovative, early intervention programs to reach those who are struggling with a mental illness wherever and whenever they need us most and by rebuilding our communities on a foundation of caring and resilience.
We are seeking mentors for our Bipolar to Bipolar (B2B) and Bipolar Family to Bipolar Family (BF2BF) free and confidential mentoring programs wherein "balanced" bipolars virtually mentor those who aren't there yet but, with a mentor, will get there; or who mentor someone who loves someone who is bipolar but doesn't understand or know how to help.
Talking to someone who has walked in your shoes can be very comforting and helpful if you are struggling to cope with a bipolar diagnosis and to hold onto hope.
We know. We've been there. Our goal is to bring back light, laughter and love into our mentees' lives, something we all deserve.
Mentors are assigned to mentees based on age group and backgrounds (read stories) and typically talk (read listen) to assigned mentees once a week. Depending on the person and your own preferences and availability, some mentees also like to reach out via email and our younger mentees, via text.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, you can respond via Volunteer Match or you can enter your contact information on the page above, and note in the Comment section that you are interested in becoming a mentor. (Note: if you need a mentor yourself, that's fine too; please just indicate such).
