Social Media Intern- Spring 2017- Los Angeles/Santa Monica Area

For Goodness Cakes matches volunteers to bake and deliver birthday cakes to foster children and at risk youth on their special day. Our mission is to give individual youth at least one special moment that is about them.

We are looking for an unpaid Social Media Intern to assist with managing the day-to-day operations of social media accounts. Our intern will perform a broad range of activities including research and planning, hands-on online campaign implementation, press events, and corporate communications initiatives.

Responsibilities:

■ Manage, update and prepare communication through all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.)

■ Promote brand awareness through social media engagement across several channels

■ Develop social media campaigns to showcase our volunteers cakes, fundraising events and community relations involvement

■ Create forums, general discussions boards and blogs for volunteers to share their cakes with one another

■ Develop a strategy to increase the number of followers on social media

Qualifications:

■ Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree program (Business Administration, Marketing and/or Communications etc.)

■ Sophomore, Junior or Senior

■ Minimum of 3.0 GPA

■ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

■ Solid understanding and use of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest etc.

■ Must be able to use your own equipment (Computer, Phone, Office etc.)

■ Must be able to work 5 hours per week
