Our organization is searching for TWO qualified Special Events and Management InternS to join our team. We work to bring lupus awareness throughout the entire state of Florida in order to improve the quality of life of all of those affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy. We hold lupus awareness events across the state and we are seeking an intern who can participate in various stages of planning, executing, and managing these events.

This person will also act as our Volunteer Coordinator leading up to and on event days. The right candidate will be responsible for assisting with volunteer recruitment, training, and delegation of tasks and responsibilities to a minimum of 50 volunteers at each event.

Upon completion of this internship, one will gain extensive hands-on marketable experience on how to successfully plan and organize a major fundraising and nonprofit awareness event, in addition to how to effectively manage a large number of staff (event volunteers) and delegate tasks.

The Lupus Foundation of America, Florida Chapter is part of a national force devoted to solving the cruel mystery of lupus while providing caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact in the state of Florida. With the help of informed volunteers, lupus medical experts, and committed and caring supporters, we:

  • support research and conduct education programs so everyone affected by lupus can have an improved quality of life;
  • provide information to ensure people with lupus and their families get answers and health professionals know about new means to diagnose and manage the disease; and,
  • conduct activities to increase awareness of lupus, rally public support for those who are affected by lupus, and advocate on their behalf
