Legacy Land Conservancy's Lloyd and Mabel Johnson Preserve is getting some TLC! In preparation for a prairie restoration project on the Preserve's existing farm fields, we're focusing on removing invasive shrubs from the fence rows between fields.
Once the prairie gets planted, we'll need volunteers for seed harvesting, seed dispersal, herbaceous invasive management, and other aspects of the project. This could be an opportunity for a one-time impact, or an ongoing opportunity to see a prairie restoration from the beginning.
If you'd like to work outdoors, break a sweat, and spend some time helping to further habitat restoration efforts in your community, we'd love to hear from you! We welcome both individuals and groups for this project. With questions or to set up a group workday, please contact Allene Smith at stewardship@legacylandconservancy.org or (734)302-5263, ext. 309.
Thank you!
