Summary: Help Desk Volunteers will answer non-crisis calls from people living with epilepsy, their families, and caregivers, and provide them with supportive listening, information and guidance to appropriate resources. These essential volunteers work in support of our mission of leading the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
Location: Wilmington, MA
Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls to our support services Help Desk
Record call data
Maintain client confidentiality
Length of Appointment: Support Services Help Desk Volunteers are assigned to one day per week for a period of at least six months.
Time Commitment: At least one day per week for 4 hours. Shift must be between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
Qualifications:
Excellent verbal communications skills
Able to work independently
Dependable and punctual
Empathetic and a good listener
Ideal volunteer opportunity for psychology, counseling, nursing or social work students!
Support: Training for this position will be provided to prepare candidates to respond callers. In addition, a resource guide for reference and the Director of Support Services will be available to assist with answering questions from callers.
