Position Summary:

Prayer Ministries Director oversees the general operation of HSAMF’s prayer ministry. With the board, the prayer director implements the vision of prayer and the long-term strategic process aimed at ministering to HSAMF members, their families, and military as a whole. Candidate for this position reports to the Executive Director.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with the Executive Director in implementing vision; works to translate vision into strategy and strategic process into an implementation plan

  • Recommends to the executive director a team of key leaders who will provide prayer ministry; and after approval, secures their commitment.

  • Seeks to see the entire organization leadership involved in some aspect of prayer, mobilizing as "an army of prayer warriors."

  • Sees that the prayer strategy of the org is defensive and also offensive. It includes a prayer strategy for protection and for the potential of the organization.

  • Establishes a resource library on prayer.

  • Establishes a relationship with local, state and national organizations active in providing resources and in coordinating prayer at the city-wide level and beyond.

  • Develops an information network to get the prayer needs of the families to the prayer leaders; answers to prayer celebrated to encourage.

Requirements:

Christian. Enjoy working with people, enthusiastic personality. Strong organization and time management skills. Flexibility. Proficiency at Microsoft Office Word, and Excel. Willingness to learn simple marketing e-mail program; Constant Contact and eTapestry. Background check, online orientation training, 3 month probation period.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage others with enthusiasm and passion for the mission of HSAMF

  • Willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction in a positive manner

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work on multiple projects with attention to detail

  • Understanding of homeschooling and/or military families preferred but not required

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred but not required

    Hours Required:

    Work from home, any time of day. Hours vary, average 5 hours a week. Requires a 1 year commitment.
