About

The Centerboard Family Resource Center 's T.R.U.E Mentoring Program which stands for Teach ONE. Reach ONE. UPLIFT ONE. EMPOWER ONE aims to provide academic and social support for boys and young men ages 6 to 18, by helping our mentees increase their motivation and confidence, set and achieve new goals, give direction to their academic and future career choices while expanding their network, enabling them to unlock their potential and gain leadership roles. T.R.U.E serves as the foundation for our boys and young men to build their futures through healthy positive relationships. Mentors will meet once a month for 4-6 hours with a mentee for a minimum of 10 months.


We offer site-based mentoring & community-based:

Site Based

- Only for mentees under 13 years of age

- Located at Centerboard Inc

- Mentors & Mentees meet at host site once a month with activities planned for the few hours


Community Based

- For mentees over 13

- It's anywhere in the community

- Free tickets and access to events, sports games, plays, etc

- Free monthly access to a YMCA of any choice during mentoring days for participants


Both Community & Site Model offers travel reimbursements & monthly stipends for qualified mentors.
