Your sewing talents could brighten the day of a grieving Hospice caregiver.

VITAS Innovative Hospice Care of Fort Worth is looking for volunteers to sew Memory Bears. These cute cuddly critters are sewn from a favorite article of clothing provided by a hospice patient or by their family member. These memory bears provide a lovely reminder of the hospice patient and can be a valuable part of the bereavement process for our Hospice family members. Accuracy and timeliness are particularly valuable for the volunteer sewer. The sewer is asked to provide a sample project made from an article of clothing in order to assess skill. Simplicity pattern cost and all other supplies can be reimbursed. Volunteer needs a sewing machine and the ability to turn this project promptly. Each bear takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours to complete.
