We provide long-term, reversible birth control (IUDs and implants) to any woman living in Southeast Tennessee who wants it. For free. These low-maintenance methods provide protection and are fully reversible when she’s ready.
Access to birth control gives a woman the opportunity to complete an education, earn more money, have healthier babies, take care of her children, and live life on her terms.
Appointment Line Volunteers are vital to the success of our organization. Volunteers sign up for four-hour shifts at their convenience and calls to our appointment line are routed to volunteers’ cell phones. Volunteers answer clients’ questions about our services and refer them to one of our partner clinics for an appointment. Each call usually takes about 5 minutes, and the best part is that you never even have to leave your house.
Shifts are available Monday - Friday. AM Shift: 9 AM - 1:00 PM PM Shift: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
To sign up or learn more email firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTE: While the opportunity itself is volunteer-from-home, we do require that volunteers attend an orientation and training session prior to volunteering. We are currently only looking for volunteers in our service area of the following southeast Tennessee counties: Bledsoe, Bradley, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea, and Sequatchie.
A Step Ahead Chattanooga provides information about and free access to long-term, reversible birth control.
A Step Ahead Chattanooga empowers a woman to take control of her future. We make sure she can get the most effective methods of birth control when she is ready.
We provide long-term, reversible birth control to any woman living in Southeast Tennessee who wants it. For free.
With donations from individuals, companies, and foundations, we make sure that clinical services cost women nothing out-of-pocket. If needed, transportation is covered too. We also provide outreach and education. We believe that all women - not only women of means-should have every chance to reach their education, career, and relationship goals.
