ORGANIZATION: Tolton Center a program of De La Salle Institute

  • 5 people are interested

We are looking for a patient volunteer who would be willing to assist in our adult computer classes on Thursdays from 8:30am-11:30am.

We run ESL and ABE classes Tues-Thurs from 8:30am-11:30am. We are located on the 3rd floor of a Catholic Charities run headstart program in the Little Village neighborhood. We offer unique free small class programming that not only teaches subject matter (English, Math, Reading, Writing) but also incorporates parenting education into our curriculum. Thursdays are our computer classes for all the students. We have laptops, desktops and tablets that students can access. Students work on a variety of programs according to their own personal computer goals whether it is a typing program, english program, Rosetta Stone, setting up an email account, etc.

Our adult students have a range of computer literacy skills from very beginner to intermediate. Our learners are mostly english language learners and live in Little Village. English and Spanish knowledge is a plus however fluency in both is not required.
